Disaster Preparedness

Early in 2001, MCG and the University of Georgia began to form disaster education programs, that began to attract more attention after the events of the fall of 2001. With the prospect of terrorism looming, the demand for nationally recognized courses in all-hazards training has increased.

The aforementioned academic institutions, agreed to assimilate their pre-existing ADLS™ educational programs under a federal appropriation managed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

To meet this established need the National Disaster Life Support Educational Consortium™ was formed. The advisory board consists of international and domestic leaders in disaster management.
